Welcome
to Dignity in Asylum
(DIAS)

Our mission is to provide safe transitional housing and support for asylum seekers, refugees, people who have been granted asylum and unaccompanied minors at risk of homelessness

ABOUT US

Asylum seekers cannot work when they first arrive in the U.S. and must wait at least a year until they receive their work permit. In addition, they cannot receive support from agencies that are government funded, such as resettlement agencies, and while there are a number of organizations providing free health support and pro bono legal council, there are, nationwide, almost no organizations offering housing support to people seeking asylum.

DIAS supports asylum seekers during the complicated and often heart wrenching process of applying and waiting for asylum. Through our work with asylum seekers and those that have been granted asylum we have met amazing, caring, engaged and incredibly courageous people who, to us, often embody the best and most miraculous a human being can be. â€‹
